The Nation's Memory Institute (UPN) on Thursday announced that it has published the names of Communist secret service (StB) officials and agents in eastern Slovakia, which was known as a bastion of hard-core communists after the Warsaw Pact invasion crushed liberalisation attempts in Czechoslovakia in 1968. According to UPN Managing Board director Ivan Petransky, officials from StB's Kosice branch, apart from "combatting external and internal enemies" also actively co-operated with the Soviet KGB.
