Thousands of Czechs to protest against low rise in pensions

The Czech Senior Council expects several thousand people to turn out at a demonstration organised by seniors' organisations over a lower than expected rise in pensions. The protest will be held in Prague on May 30, council head Zdenek Pernes said on Thursday. Czech pensioners will protest in the streets for the first time. The demonstration is staged by the Senior Council, associating some 320,000 members of pensioners' organisations, along with the Czech Disability Council.
