Tax changes needed, says Czech PM

May 23rd, 2012

Czech Prime Minister Petr Necas said on Wednesday he expected the government package of tax changes to make it through the Chamber of Deputies because without them a budget with a deficit of under 3 percent of GDP could not be created and "there would be no reason for the government to continue". The government agreed on measures that include a VAT rise from 15 to 21 percent and restrict flat expense write-offs of self-employed people earlier this year.
