Slovak Police deny SME's claims about Machala being charged

The Bratislava Region Police Department disagree with claims published in SME daily on Friday, whereby the writer and former advisor to Premier Robert Fico Drahoslav Machala has been charged with assaulting writer Tomas Janovic. Police spokesperson Petra Hraskova the article is misleading. "The police department hasn't said that a specific person has been named as an assailant. The statement only said that 'their part in the investigation has been closed and that a 65-year-old person is suspected of committing a misdemeanour," she said.
