Regional and local tourism organisations will receive state assistance worth almost 3.3 million euros in total, the Slovak government decided on Wednesday. This is the first state subsidy of this kind allocated on supporting tourism, said state secretary Frantisek Palko. The allocated funding can only be used for direct support of tourism, including the enhancing of tourism infrastructure, marketing and events. It can't be used to cover salaries or operating costs.
