President, unions discuss retirement reform

May 30th, 2012

President Bronislaw Komorowski and a unionist delegation headed by All-Poland Trade Union Alliance head Jan Guz Wednesday discussed a planned retirement-age hike to 67. Presidential aide Irena Woycicka said after the talks that Komorowski will decide about signing the new retirement law soon. The act, recently passed by the Sejm (lower house), raises the retirement age for both sexes to 67 years, the change to be effective by 2020 for men and 2040 for women.
