Population census to take place amid coronavirus

The traditional population census will take place in the Czech Republic from March to May on the condition that the census digital forms are used preferentially and strict sanitary rules are applied, the Health Ministry has decided, Central Crisis Staff (UKS) head Jan Hamacek told a press conference on Wednesday. A week ago, Deputy PM and Interior Minister Hamacek asked the Heath Ministry to assess the risk of the population census amid the pandemic due to the 11,000 census commissioners, mainly employees of the Ceska Posta national postal service.
