Polish politicians hopeful of post-election change in France

"The French punished France's former President Nicolas Sarkozy for his arrogance, lifestyle, many controversial issues discussed by the media," ruling Civic Platform's MP Andrzej Halicki said commenting the outcome of Sunday's presidential election in France. Krzysztof Szczerski of Law and Justice said that Hollande's election would "likely mean the departure from the Sarkozy-Merkel model of overcoming the crisis, namely (...) by encouraging weaker countries to save, budget discipline, supervision of politically stronger countries over weaker ones."
