Polish govt plans to meet demand with domestic gas

The government aims to satisfy Poland's natural gas requirements with domestic gas extraction by 2020, Treasury Minister Mikolaj Budzanowski said on Thursday. "Today we extract 4.5 billion cubic metres of natural gas, while we consume 14.5 billion. We aim to increase extraction by 10 billion cubic metres - it is a very tangible target towards which we should direct our investment efforts," Budzanowski said at a treasury committee meeting in the Sejm.
