Premier Eduard Heger said he supports the hospital reform, claiming that it's not about shutting down hospitals but a move that should bring about specialised and better-equipped hospitals. As Heger has posted on a social network, over 8,000 Slovak citizens died in 2017 simply because they weren't provided with effective health care on time. "This is one of the reasons why hospital reform must take place, even if the money from the recovery plan wasn't available to us [at that time]," stated the premier.
