PM Orban calls on ethnic Hungarians in Romania to join forces

There is a new situation for ethnic Hungarians in Romania and it is now time for them to join forces, Prime Minister Viktor Orban told public Kossuth radio on Friday. "I call on ethnic Hungarian political organisations operating there (in Romania) to seek cooperation with each other," said Orban. In politics rivalry is necessary but in the current situation cooperation and joining forces must be the overruling approach, he added. Orban said the whole of Europe should watch out "to make sure that life does not take a sudden turn in the direction of ethnic antagonism."
