Liszt Ferenc Intl Airport terminal 1 to close on Tuesday evening

May 29th, 2012

Terminal 1 of Liszt Ferenc International Airport in Budapest is planned to be closed for five years in the wake of national carrier Malev going bust in February. Last flights leave on Tuesday evening. All airlines will operate from Terminal 2 starting on Wednesday. Airport operator Budapest Airport earlier said that all development obligations had been met but further spending must be drastically cut, and Terminal 1 would be closed as part of these efforts.
