New programmes of the International Visegrad Fund of the V4 countries are designed to promote cooperation with the EU's Eastern Partnership countries and the Western Balkans, the fund's executive director said in the foreign ministry on Wednesday. The launching of the fund by the Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland and Slovakia in 2000 marked an important step in the four countries' cooperation as it served to strengthen ties on the level of civil society, Petr Vagner said.
