The headcount at Hungary's police force has risen by 3,500 in the first two years of Fidesz rule, while 4,250 people will complete their training by June 30, Minister of the Interior Sandor Pinter said at a parliamentary hearing on Monday. As was expected when the expansion was first announced, the number of crimes police have uncovered and arrests have also gone up, while occupancy rates in Hungary's prisons are 138 percent, Pinter said.
