Hungarian to play Chopin at soccer Euro-2012 opening ceremony

Hungarian pianist Adam Gyorgy will play Chopin at the opening ceremony on the European Soccer Championship in Warsaw on June 8. His performance will form part of an unusual show, a Karmatonic dj production involving hundreds of dancers expected to be seen by 300 million people. "We wanted to create something to enter the classical musical traditions represented by Chopin into the world of sport," Gyorgy said in a statement sent to MTI.
