Parliament failed to elect a commissioner for children at the vote on Friday, as none of the seven candidates garnered the necessary number of votes. The election will thus be repeated, with the two top candidates, Katarina Hatrakova and Anna Niku, advancing to the second round. Hatrakova, supported by OLaNO, received 52 lawmaker votes, while Niku, nominated by the 'We Are Family' party, garnered 47.
