Half of Czechs say too many foreigners in their country - poll

May 29th, 2012

About half of Czech citizens say the number of foreigners living in their country is too high, about 40 percent believe the number of foreigners is adequate and only 2 percent consider it too low, a CVVM poll showed. Negative views on immigrants tend to be more frequent among poor people and people without any contacts with foreigners. On the contrary, rich people and with friends among foreigners have positive views. The poll also showed that people from bigger towns tend to view immigrants as a problem.
