Gasparovic praises mayors of Slovak localities

Sometimes I think that it's a miracle that the street lamps light up after dark, that the local traffic works, that the lawns get mown and the streets are swept, President Ivan Gasparovic said at a meeting of the Slovak Towns and Villages Association on Tuesday. Gasparovic went on to say that he admires the mayors of Slovak towns and villages for making do with the current budgets. He stressed that local authorities should receive finances to cover all of their tasks.
