Forest fire in Vlkyna spreads to Hungary on Easter Monday

A forest fire near the southern border village of Vlkyna (Banska Bystrica region) on Easter Monday spread to a forest in Hungary, the Slovak Fire and Rescue Corps reported on overnight. The fire near Vlkyna broke out in difficult terrain, so the firefighters had to use four-wheelers to access it. "Due to a strong wind, the flames also spread to a forest in Hungary," said Katarina Krizanova from the Fire and Rescue Corps press office.
