Companies running their businesses in Slovakia are set to pay 23 percent from their profits in taxes instead of the current 19 percent, Prime Minister Robert Fico (Smer-SD) said after the Council for Solidarity and Development session held on Thursday. The Government thus plans to realise an additional EUR 366 million in state revenues. According to Fico, the basic tax rate for people will stay at current 19 percent.
