Experts call on new Czech minister to complete university reform

Scholars and scientists have called on new Czech Education Minister Petr Fiala to complete the university reform in their joint letter on Monday. Economist Jan Svejnar, a potential presidential candidate, and Rudolf Hanka, Professor at Cambridge University were among the signatories. University lecturers are allegedly opposed to the changes since they are afraid of competition, experts say. Thousands of people protested the Ministry's reform of the university system this year.
