EC president says Poland will be offered aid to fight climate change

The European Commission president has stated that Poland is likely to receive significant aid from the EUR 72-billion Social Climate Fund, and that it is not the only assistance this country can count on. Asked whether the introduction of a "Fit for 55' package, whose purpose is to update the EU's 2030 climate and energy laws to reflect the 55 percent net emissions reduction target that the EU set for 2030, can lead to protests against the European Green Deal, Ursula von der Leyen told the daily Dziennik Gazeta Prawna that, in order to avoid this, the EC planned to first launch the Social Climate Fund.
