Czech soldiers join Afghans in combat operation in Wardak

Czech and Afghan soldiers participated in a week-long combat operation against rebels in Wardak province, planned by the Afghan military and secured by Czechs and other allied soldiers, Martin Hajduch, chief of staff of the mentoring team 4th unit, told CTK on Thursday. He said the Czechs and Afghans succeeded in the difficult mountainous terrain in finding and seizing a large-calibre machine gun that was threatening allied supply helicopters.
