Czech Senate supports bill on May 1945 National Uprising

The Senate, the upper house of Czech parliament, on Thursday supported a bill to recognise the participants in the Czech National Uprising in May 1945. Under the bill, May 5 should be commemorated as the day of the Czech National Uprising in 1945 and not as the May Uprising of Czech People as in the past. The bill is yet to be assessed by the Senate human rights committee before it is submitted to the Chamber of Deputies, the lower house of parliament.
