The Czech Republic registered 5,406 new confirmed coronavirus cases on Monday, which was 642 less than a week ago and the lowest figure on a workday in a month. The number of active infections stands at 117,858, 6,592 of whom are in hospital, according to data released by the Health Ministry on Tuesday. The number of fatalities rose by 85 to 6,416 on Monday. Since the epidemic outbreak in the country on March 1, 465,523 people have tested positive for Covid-19, 341,249 of whom have recovered, which is almost three-quarters. Most of those infected have a mild course of the disease.
