Czech police patrol area of ethnic tension

Towns in the Sluknov area in north Bohemia will be patrolled by a new special police unit from Wednesday in reaction to ethnic tension between majority locals and the Roma minority, regional police spokeswoman Sarka Polackova told CTK. Twenty-five officers will be patrolling the area every night. Originally, the police were to create the special unit only if needed, but eventually it was decided that they will stay permanently in the area.
