Czech govt makes cuts in EU-subsidised education projects

May 18th, 2012

The new Czech education minister, Petr Fiala, has reduced the number of EU-subsidised projects planned by his predecessor to five from more than twenty, Hynek Jordan, an official at the ministry, said on Friday. The rest of the projects originally planned by former minister Josef Dobes (Public Affairs, VV) was impossible to process and implement in time, Jordan said. If the EC approves the selected five national projects, they will be eligible for 350 million crowns from EU funds, he said.
