The opposition Czech Social Democrats (CSSD) would win a general election if one were held now, gaining one-third of the vote, followed by the current senior government Civic Democrats (ODS) with one-fifth of the vote, according to the latest Median poll published on Tuesday. The opposition Communists (KSCM), the government TOP 09 and the Christian Democrats (KDU-CSL) would also cross the 5-percent parliamentary threshold. Turnout would be 62 percent, which is almost the same as in the previous general election held in mid-2010.
