Child abuse cases up in CzechRep

May 23rd, 2012

The number of the cases of maltreated and abused children has been rising in the Czech Republic, reaching 6,642 in 2011 compared to some 1,400 ten years ago, Our Child Foundation head Zuzana Baudysova said on Wednesday, adding that the cases have become more violent. Citing the Labour and Social Affairs Ministry's data, Baudysova said the foundation considered it only the tip of an iceberg. "Most cases remain uncovered, unfortunately," she said.
