Changes to Polish law on uniformed services pensions moderate, says PO

May 9th, 2012

A government draft amendment to Poland's law on pensions for uniformed services is moderate and insignificant, and too much of a compromise, deputies of the ruling Civic Platform (PO) told Sejm on Wednesday. Under the bill, soldiers and policemen will be entitled to retirement after turning 55 having 25 years of service (currently uniformed servicemen are entitled to retire after 15 years irrespective of age). The opposition wanted servicemen to retire after 25 years irrespective of age.
