Chamber passes minor change in Czech-Austrian border

May 9th, 2012

The Chamber of Deputies on Wednesday passed a constitutional amendment under which the Czech-Austrian border may be slightly changed in southern Moravia. Thanks to the legislation, it will be possible to swap some land near the towns of Breclav and Lanzhot, south Moravia, with the neighbouring Austria. The government signed the treaty on October 26, 2011. Under the treaty, the border will be newly delineated on the Dyje (Thaya) border river.
