Cautious IMF talks safeguards Hungary's interests, says Matolcsy

Hungary has pursued a step-by-step process which carefuly guards national interests when negotiating with international lenders on financial aid, Gyorgy Matolcsy, the economy minister, said in response to a question by a lawmaker in parliament's consumer protection committee on Tuesday. Matolcsy said that fast talks with the IMF and the EU could mean giving up national interests and ultimately put Hungary and its economic policy in a subservient position.
