Bratislava's Old Town borough has launched a project aimed at making children's playgrounds safer, as a new playground within the 'Medicka Zahrada' public park was opened in April, Town spokesman Tomas Halan said. As a result, there are no protruding nails or concrete below seesaws, and other playgrounds in the borough are set to follow suit. "We're still at the beginning," said Old Town mayor Tatiana Rosova. "Children's safety hasn't been prioritised for a long time, so the playgrounds fail to comply with the EU standards.
