Branch of Vaclav Havel Library opens in New York

A branch of the Vaclav Havel Library opened in New York at a ceremony in the Lincoln Centre attended by former US Secretary of State, Czech-born Madeleine Albright and folk-pop singer Suzanne Vega last night. Albright will be one of the personalities to be behind the Havel Library's US branch, helped by former US ambassadors to the Czech Republic Craig Stapleton, William Cabaniss and John Shattuck. It will collect documents on Havel and prepare educational and further activities that are to deepen Czech-US relations.
