The automotive industry has a strong tradition not only in Slovakia, but in the whole Visegrad Group (V4) comprising Slovakia, the Czech Republic, Poland and Hungary, Economy Minister Peter Ziga told the Newmatec 2019 conference in Samorin on Tuesday. The conference on the future and challenges of the automotive industry has been organised under the auspices of the Economy Ministry as part of Slovakia's V4 presidency. According to Ziga, statistics confirm that the automotive industry makes up a significant component of the GDP of each V4 country, which, however, entails risks and challenges regarding how to maintain its competitiveness.
