The average monthly pension in the Czech Republic will rise by 900 crowns (EUR 35) in 2020, which is more than the legal pension indexation, as President Milos Zeman signed the respective bill into law on Monday, his spokesman Jiri Ovcacek has told CTK. The Chamber of Deputies, the lower house of Czech parliament, approved the pension rise last week. Czech law stipulates that pensions are to be raised by one half of the real-wage increase plus inflation in the given period. The legal indexation will raise them by some 750 crowns to which some 150 crowns will be added next year, according to the current estimates.
