The Great Independence Military Parade, made up of over 1,000 soldiers, 900 reenactors and about two hundred vehicles, was held in Warsaw on Wednesday. The parade, which marked both Armed Forces Day and the 100th anniversary of Poland's regaining independence, proceeded along the Wisłostrada (a succession of streets by the Vistula river). It also featured about 100 aircraft and helicopters flying over the Vistula River. The celebratory march was watched by President Andrzej Duda, Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki, Speaker of the Sejm Marek Kuchciński, Senate Speaker Stanisław Karczewski, Defence Minister Mariusz Błaszczak, Deputy Prime Minister Piotr Gliński, Head of the National Security Bureau Paweł Soloch and other government officials as well as by crowds of Warsaw residents and tourists.
