January 18th, 2018
Voter support for Poland's ruling Law and Justice (PiS) party grew to 44 percent in January 2018 from 41 percent in December 2017 following the cabinet reshuffle, a survey by the CBOS pollster shows. Support for oppositionist Civic Platform (PO) went down by 3 percentage points to 15 percent while liberal opposition party Nowoczesna suffered a clear 5-percentage point decline to 6 percent. Anti-establishment grouping Kukiz'15 would be the only other party to make it into parliament with support at 5 percent, down by 2 pps from December. The electoral threshold in Poland is 5 percent for a political party, and 8 percent for coalitions. CBOS carried out the survey on January 9-17 with a representative sample of 951 adult respondents.
