Brink is a senior and influential career diplomat who in the past worked as deputy assistant secretary at the Bureau of European and Eurasian Affairs at the Department of State. During her twenty years in the foreign service she has promoted US policy in Europe and Eurasia as deputy chief of missions in Tbilisi, Georgia, and Tashkent, Uzbekistan. In an earlier stage of her career she worked in the National Security Council, where she was responsible for coordination in the Aegean region and the Caucasus.
