Households and entrepreneurs in Slovakia are paying less for electricity than the EU average, Office for the Regulation of Network Industries (URSO) spokesman Radoslav Igaz said on Thursday in response to President Andrej Kiska's recent moves against new legislation on URSO. Kiska announced on Wednesday that he had asked the Constitutional Court to examine whether an amendment to the Act on the Regulation of Network Industries is in line with the Constitution and EU law. At the same time he stated that Slovakia has among the highest electricity charges in the EU.
