Some 1,200 Hungarian entrepreneurs in Ukraine, winners in the latest round of the Hungarian government's scheme to support the businesses of ethnic kin, signed their contracts in Berehove (Beregszasz) on Thursday. State secretary Levente Magyar, who represented the government at the ceremony, said that Hungary has now distributed over 10 billion forints (EUR 31m) of grants and loans to businesses in Ukraine's Hungarian community. So far, some 5,000 entrepreneurs have participated in the scheme, he added. "As long as Hungary has a nation-conscious government, assistance to Transcarpathia Hungarians will continue," Magyar said in his address.
