Krzysztof Szczerski, top aide to Polish President Andrzej Duda, said on Monday that if all formalities are settled, the head of state could appoint new generals on March 1. Szczerski made the declaration in a radio interview, after being asked if new promotions to the rank of general could be handed out on March 1, which is a national day of remembrance for Doomed Soldiers, Poland's defiant post-World War II anti-communist resistance fighters.
