Politicians who slander their own country in the international arena are unworthy of representing it, Prime Minister Beata Szydlo said Wednesday on Twitter. Szydlo said that she would comment on the "scandalous events" that had taken place at the European Parliament on Wednesday at the upcoming EU summit. During Wednesday's EP debate, MEPs representing the majority of the factions called on the Polish authorities to respect EU values. EC Vice-President Frans Timmermans reiterated that Warsaw should restore the independence and legitimacy of the Constitutional Court. The lawmakers from Poland's ruling party Law and Justice left the debate.
