Gas supplies from Serbia are expected to start arriving from next October, and the volume to be received could be higher than originally planned, Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto said on Thursday after meeting Serbian Minister of Energy and Mining Aleksandar Antic in Budapest. Hungary is ready to carry out extra developments if the companies involved in gas transport indicate that demand is higher than an annual 6 billion cubic metres, he said. The construction of the pipeline connecting the Hungarian network with the border is already under preparation and an agreement on linking the networks could be signed with Serbia soon, he added. Before the press conference, Hungarian energy company MVM signed an MoU with the Serbian energy supplier Srbijagas.
