Students protest against Czech President Zeman´s stance on Putna

Some 50 people, mainly students, protested in Brno on Tuesday against Czech President Milos Zeman's refusal to appoint Martin C. Putna professor. Literary historian and critic Putna fulfilled all conditions for the academic degree and his appointment was proposed by the Charles University Academic Council. Speculations emerged that the real reasons were Putna's participation in the Prague Pride homosexual march and his other activities connected with homosexuality.
