Stronger member states make stronger EU - PM

January 24th, 2019

Stronger and more equal EU member states will make the European Union stronger, Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki said on Thursday during 'The New Impetus for Europe' panel at the World Economic Forum in Davos. Morawiecki added that it is necessary to apply the same standards to all countries. He went on to highlight that Poland is at the same time a pro-European and pro-American country, as well as one that is "proud of its achievements." The prime minister pointed out that he considers European identity through the prism of diversity, because, as he said, Europe is diverse. Morawiecki said that rethinking the transparency of EU procedures and the legislative process would restore a sense of power to EU citizens.
