Meteorologists declared a smog situation in Moravia-Silesia, the most polluted region in the Czech Republic, due to high concentrations of airborne dust particles on Monday morning, the Czech Hydrometeorological Institute (CHMU) told CTK. The smog situation is in effect in particular in the Ostrava, Karvina and Frydek-Mistek areas in this North Moravian region, but not in the Trinec area.
