There are currently enough empty beds in hospitals, and no medical equipment has had to be moved to date, Prime Minister Peter Pellegrini, who is also tasked with eading the health ministry, said on Wednesday following the meeting of the government and the central crisis management team. The premier noted that there are currently restrictions on planned operations for non-life-threatening problems, such as joint replacements or aesthetic operations. "Paradoxically, the atmosphere in hospitals may have calmed down slightly as we've banned some operations and we're waiting for the first onslaught. Doctors, surgeons and nurses in the operating rooms have more time. They should prepare for the onslaught yet to come," said the prime minister.
