Slovakia and China have signed a memorandum on cooperation in the area of tourism, Transport Ministry spokesperson Karolina Ducka told TASR on Friday. The memorandum was signed in Riga on the occasion of the 5th China-Central and Eastern European Countries (CEEC) 17+1 High-level Tourism Forum, which took place on Wednesday. "We've reached a new level when it comes to exchanging tourists by signing the memorandum," Transport Minister Arpad Ersek said. "Tourism significantly contributes to the converging of cultures and it's also an important economic sector. I believe that the cooperation will increase the number of tourists in Slovakia, that there will be more Chinese tourists and more overnight stays."
