Slovakia budget deficit at EUR 856 m at end-November

Slovakia's state budget posted a deficit of 856 million euros to the end of November, which was 126 million euros or 12.8 percent lower than the deficit for the same period last year, the Finance Ministry reported on Monday. Revenues grew by 1.047 billion euros or 8.8 percent year-on-year, while expenditures swelled by 922 million euros or 7.1 percent y-o-y. The y-o-y increase in tax revenues amounted to 801 million euros. According to the ministry, positive developments were seen in revenues for VAT (up by 518 million euros), corporate tax (up 188 million euros), excise taxes (65 million euros), and withholding tax (33 million euros). Conversely, revenues from income tax posted a fall of 1 million euros over the monitored period.
